Engineering Drawing modules is a series of four lessons designed for grades 6-8. Please click on each module for the teacher guides and lesson materials.

Students understand the relationship between 2D drawings and 3D objects, and they have experienced firsthand why engineers need a shared drawing language.

Duration: ~1 Week (4 Class Periods)

Students predict, draw, cut, and verify nets of cube structures, discovering why a complete net must include every exposed face.

Duration: ~1 Week (3 Class Periods)

This module introduces the engineering solution: 3-View Drawing, the standard method engineers use to show complete, accurate information about a 3D object using three separate 2D views.

Duration: ~1 Week (5 Class Periods)

Students use nets as a face-counting scaffold alongside their 3-view drawings to calculate volume and surface area, and connect these measurements to real engineering decisions.

Duration: ~1 Week (5 Class Periods)
